NCJW South Cook has many opportunities for volunteers! Here are highlights of some of our projects.
Traveling Players has kicked off its 2015-2016 season. Stars of the show include:

During this time of quarantine due to the coronavirus, our Community Service Projects are on hold. Hopefully in 2021 we will be able to return to these activities.
Albine Gerson Layette Project: South Cook Section provides layette packages for women going
through Aunt Martha’s prenatal program. To assemble these packages or donate items

Camp Quality: Camp Quality is an international camp for children with cancer. NCJW South Cook
Section provides a day of lunch and crafts at Camp Manitoqua in Frankfort, Illinois, the first week in

Sharon Johnson for art project volunteer at [email protected]
Cynthia Maddox Adopt-A-School Project: Attention Art & Reading Lovers! NCJW has established
an educational partnership with the Garfield Elementary School in Chicago Heights. Members
volunteer by reading to groups of young children in the library or by talking about great works of art.
NCJW also supports school-wide cultural events and responds to requests from teachers for
materials to enhance classroom learning. No long-term commitment required – you set the time and

Peggy Eisenstein Holiday Gift Project: The South Cook Section provides children and teens in the
Aunt Martha’s Youth Services program with gifts during the holiday season. In addition, we support
young adults in transition through our Duffel Bag Project. To contribute and/or volunteer for this

Elyse Bell Traveling Players: Love to sing and dance? South Cook’s longest running community
service project, Traveling Players, presents original plays to mentally and physically challenged
children and adults by presenting a half-hour show at their facility. Join us for the most fun you will
