HONEY IS BACK AND SO ARE THE CARDS!
A work of handmade love
Dear bumblebee friends and supporters,
We did it! We did it! [sing it to the tune of You Did It, the My Fair Lady movie song].
Last year we asked y’all to stick with us through the pandemic and mail Rosh Hashanah greeting cards instead of honey to keep both our volunteers and our Honey Project healthy so we could resume our 23rd year in 2021 in business as usual, with a healthy, caring, and happy group of volunteers to spread Rosh Hashanah cheers across the globe. And we certainly did it! Here we are again, most of us already vaccinated and ready to wrap and ship honey. We will keep our distance and wear masks when needed but we WILL get together one more time. Thanks a lot for your support.
This year Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Monday, September 6th. As they say, Jewish holidays are never on-time, they are either early or late. In 2021 they are early and even if it seems far away, at NCJW South Cook Section it is time to think about the holidays.
Honey for the Holidays is a work of handmade love. A group of over 50 volunteers gets together during three weeks in July/August to label, wrap, box, sort, and mail the honey every year. We are not sending just honey; we are sending you a big hug from the South Suburbs of Chicago in the form of our commitment to NCJW.
We have brought your greetings and blessing to loved ones all over the United States and beyond. Honey for The Holidays travels all over the world to Canada, Mexico, England, Israel and as far as Australia and Argentina.
The money we fundraise goes towards funding projects in over 15 public schools each year, helping families suffering through domestic violence, bringing needed supplies and gifts to youth houses and single mothers, supporting food pantries, and educating our community in current issues. Always putting faith in our future believing in action.
Due to popular demand this year we are offering not only honey but also a beautiful greeting card. We have enclosed two order forms this year. Our usual goldenrod Honey for the Holidays form with the prices for the honey and a new white order form for the greeting card, like the one enclosed in this mailing. The price includes the card, first class postage, and the trip to the post office.
? The one going to your loved ones will have your name professionally printed on it. As usual you will receive a copy of your previous year list for you to edit and retype. [Self-adhesive labels are really helpful] You can send us the new, edited form back with a check and we will take it from there.
