NCJW South Cook Section proudly announces our 2023 Hannah G. Solomon recipient, Gloria Lippert.
National Council of Jewish Women’s Hannah G. Solomon Award is presented to a woman who has helped to change and expand the role of other women in vital areas of community life, and whose leadership has motivated others to fight for change. It is the highest award bestowed by NCJW.
The award commemorates the spirit of Hannah G. Solomon, who established the National Council of Jewish Women in 1893. Ms. Solomon, an early social activist, led the organization in its landmark battles for laws restricting child labor, for child welfare programs, and for improved housing, education, and health care for the poor. Gloria Lippert has been a member of NCJW for over 40 years.
Gloria has demonstrated her commitment to the ideals of NCJW by her unrelenting service to our many community services and advocacy programs. As chair of our Directory committee and our annual Garden Walk event she has been a phenomenal fund-raiser and with her many community relationships has always kept NCJW South Cook Section in the news and in the minds of those in political positions. In addition to her NCJW activities, Gloria has been involved in hospice care, foster care, and maintaining reproductive rights.
